Can anyone recommend good health insurance for a cat?

He's pretty young...my cat is 2 and pretty healthy but he has some allergies.

Re: Can anyone recommend good health insurance for a cat?

As a cat and dog owner, I understand wanting to get pet insurance. We have spent $1,000's on our pets, and those emergency expenses almost always come at a time when it hurts our budget the most. Our dog has epilepsy, which requires us to be at the vet several times a year and he is on daily medication. It is a constant expense. However, you should carefully consider buying pet insurance before you bite the bullet.

Many pet insurance companies only cover accidents, not pre-existing conditions like allergies. And, often times it restricts your to specific veterinarian offices. I think you'd be better off putting money into a savings account every month and using that when you have a vet emergency or need to take your cat in for a check-up.
