Cheap Bread/Baked goods

I was at the grocery store yesterday when I passed a rack in the back of of the store. The bakery puts items there that need to be sold that day or they won't be fresh anymore, and they sell them at a deep discount. I had forgotten about that rack! I was able to get several items like specialty breads for only $0.99 each. You can always put them in the freezer until you are ready to use them. Check out your local grocery store and see if the bakery does the same thing.

Re: Cheap Bread/Baked goods

Great tip! I always try to check the discount bakery rack at my grocery store. Sometimes their discount/sale prices aren't that enticing, but other times I luck out and find something for a dollar or less.

My favorite is finding Sourdough on price cut! Its like a birthday for myself. I do not buy it regularly because its not in our budget, but if I find it on markdown, I buy away!!!

I always check for specialty breads on clearance. We're also lucky that we have a bread thrift store in our area that sells at or near sellby date breads, buns, chips, etc. Great for stocking up before a cookout!

If you have a Kroger around, they always have great bakery clearance on a daily basis. My store usually has a large rack full of breads and cakes that are clearanced!
