Do you have unusual ways of acquiring coupons?

It's just my husband & I so I buy one paper and my father-in-law comes over for lunch on Sunday's and brings me his paper. Other then the ones I print, that is it for coupons.

Until yesterday....I heard a knock at the door and the woman I babysit for was there to pay me for week. I'm super flexible with payments, I'll even barter. I know sometimes you just don't have any money.

She hands me cash & says, "I am $10 short will you take 3 Sunday papers in trade?"

...Yes, yes I will. Woohoo! Will babysit for coupons!

What unusual thing have you done to acquire coupons?

What a good idea! I am pretty bad about using paper coupons (I mostly use printable online coupons) but I love the idea of bartering with coupons.

I've found them at my local McDonald's in the morning + the coffee shops. If they have the papers laying around I have asked the managers if I could have them. 100% of the time they say sure!

If you're traveling at all this Summer, a lot of times you can get the Sunday paper for free at your hotel. Just ask them!

We ask the neighbors that get the paper if they use their coupon inserts, if they say no or look at us crazy, we ask if they would leave them out for us! Works like a charm!

Some grocery stores have a free Spanish Language newspaper that contains Smart Source and Red Plum Coupons.

I have been know to get them from the newspapers delivered to school. With permission, of course! ;) We also have a trading box in our teacher workroom!

I always make sure to get my oil changed or go to the car wash on a Sunday Morning. I can almsot always get coupons from the newspapers left at Jiffy Lube and Genie Cash Wash.

Coffee shops are a great way to get extra coupons.

I grab a couple coupon inserts at the restaurant where we eat on Sunday mornings. The manager and servers are couponers too. :)
