I haven't used it myself, but check out the praise their new MiFi hotspot gets from the NYT:

Basically, if you have your heart set on purchasing some kind of MiFi device, Virgin Mobile's offer is absolutely, unequivocally the best - same 3G speed, but NO data limit, and NO contract, for only $40 a month. That blows Verizon's, AT&T's, Sprint's, and T-Mobile's hotspot offers out of the water. Most of them offer a measly 5 gigabytes of data for $60 a month, AND require a two-year contact. So there really is no comparison in terms of plans.
PS - a lot of the reviews on this thing were written before Virgin Mobile introduced their $40 unlimited data plan, so don't worry about getting hammered with the old $60-for-5GB plan!

Yes, you should definitely bypass the trainwreck that is Vista and upgrade straight to 7 from XP. I have to warn you though... the "upgrade" process will be a nightmare all its own. It requires a hard drive format and subsequent manual reinstallation of all your files and programs, so calling it an "upgrade" is kind of ridiculous. Plan to spend several hours getting that done, but once you finish, you'll be very happy with your new OS - I've had it for 6 months and wouldn't go back to XP if you paid me. Here's a coupon for Windows 7 Professional in case the standard upgrade to Home Premium edition isn't what you're looking for.

Absolutely not, under any circumstances! Here's a helpful explanation of why never, ever, ever to buy Monster cable:

"The only people who should buy Monster cable are people who light cigars with Benjamins."

I really wish Chegg.com existed when I was still in school. It probably would have saved me thousands of dollars on textbooks I ended up opening only once or twice!
