According to a recent article on the environmental blog Grist, we have Walmart to thank for our stuff falling apart.
The argument goes like this: thanks to Walmart's never-ending quest to
lower prices, we're seeing a steady drop in the quality and durability
of clothing, electronics, and other items. This means we have to replace
our stuff more, which in turn means we're spending more and doing
damage to the environment.

This awesome invention isn't anything new, really, but a very cool and strange gift idea nonetheless. After all, it's essentially just a toaster and heater, but 1) it's adorable in its 1950s retro plastic baby blue and chrome casing, 2) your toast demands that you bite it (mm, don't mind if I do!) and 3) it's actually useful in making a delicious breakfast and is something you can use every day: i.e. not a waste of money.
And it's cool. Did I mention it's cool?
