I tend to hold on to
clothes until they're falling apart – stains on the cuff, rips at the
seam, and faded. In that condition, I don't feel right donating them to a
charity shop. But I also don't feel right just tossing old clothes in
the trash and adding to our ever-growing landfills. So I end up with
bags of unwanted clothes taking up space in my closet.
I stumbled across the bags while I was spring cleaning. Instead of just
tossing them back in the closet and forgetting for another year, I
decided to do find a way to re-purpose the clothes. Turns out, old
clothes have plenty of new uses, and I've saved a bunch of money reusing
something to boot.
Happy New Year! Each year, millions of Americans make New Year resolutions to lose weight, stop smoking, and end bad habits. Many of these resolutions go by the wayside before we even celebrate Valentine's Day. For 2012 make some resolutions that are easier to stick to, and will benefit your personal style all year long!
This fall is a great season to stock up on trends that are classic, and flattering to so many different body types. One trend I am adoring, and know will still look chic years from now is the return of the cape.
I know, many of you when you hear "cape" may think of Superman and
Sherlock Holmes. However, this fall's cape is far more elegant,
versatile and figure-flattering than a red satin or ankle-length number
famous made famous by your favorite storybook hero. A cape is a great
piece to wear during transitional weather--you can slip over a tee and
jeans for a trip to the market, over a suit or dress with ease, or use
it as a layering piece with a heavy sweater or fitted jacket for
additional warmth come winter. Capes work on slight and curvy frames,
petite and tall women, and will work even if you are between sizes (or expecting!).
Here are some of my favorite budget-friendly capes for this fall--styles that are kind to your figure, your lifestyle and your wallet.
Abercrombie & Fitch divorced Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino. Mind you, they were never married. Mike wore Abercrombie clothes on the very popular Jersey Shore reality series. However, A&F was not bubbling over at the free publicity due to the cast's endless nights of partying and frequent fighting on the show. According to their recent press release, "…association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image." Uh, right, as though A&F did not have issues in the past with their reputation.
A&F in turn offered to pay Sorrentino not to wear their clothing line. Mike cannot go through the entire season shirtless (bet the women who watch Jersey Shore disagree). Sorrentino needs a new clothing line to exploit wear.
What clothing brand should "The Situation" get into this time?

Shorts are having their day in the sun this Summer 2011 and I couldn't be more excited. For years shorts have been two styles: straight and long a la Bermudas, or short and very difficult to wear unless you have a perfect body. Not this season, where shorts are available in every length, fabric and silhouette imaginable. There is a style of shorts that is perfect for every woman this summer.
