Holidays
Now, if you've been following along, you'll know about saving money on your electric bill by
replacing incandescent bulbs with CFLs and the new LED bulbs just hitting shelves. Today, I'm going to tell you how swapping your old lights for LED Christmas lights can save you money three ways.
I know it's early yet to be thinking about holiday decorations, but the whole inspiration for this blog today is a program that
Home Depot is only running for a limited time. From now until 11/14, you can
trade-in old-style Christmas lights and get $3 off a string of new, energy efficient, LED lights.
Update 11/18 - See the bottom of the page for Sears and Kmart light recycling deals.

Special Events
As you may have heard, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month (
and, for those keeping track, today is National Denim Day), established 25 years ago to educate and empower women (and men) about a disease in which almost 200,000 new cases were diagnosed last year and that caused over 40,000 deaths last year as well. In order to raise money for research and/or raise consciousness, a number of retailers are offering special promotions.
Here are some of the Pink Ribbon deals and promotions for 2010:

Shop Smarter
If you were too focused on buying presents and baking cookies to even think about your New Year's outfit, know that you're not the only one. I type this, surrounded by torn gift wrap and fabulous presents, just catching my breath and realizing New Years Eve is next weekend. Ack!
Well, here are some suggestions to look as though you spent weeks on your glam look for your New Years fete.
By iwerner 6 months ago I like Crocs for kids. They have great designs. Their customer service is really good. You can order a pair from anywhere online and exchange them at any crocs store if they don't fit. My daughter got a pair for her BD from Amazon and they were too small. I called the Crocs store near us and they said that we can exchange them for a larger size even without the receipt, so we didn't have to ship them back and she was able to try them on to see if they fit. It's also great to shop on line because they offer more discounts online and then you can always exchange them in stores if you need different size.

By Kenny01 2 months ago I'd be lying if I said they were the most attractive shoes, but man are they comfortable. They're good for wearing around the house. You know, when nobody's watching.
