Product Review
We're living in an app world and I just don't know how to make sense of it. I just got my wife an iPad and she's looking for apps with which my 3 year-old daughter could play or learn. She complained she didn't know where to start.
So I started with Google and searched 'search engine for apps' and came across some interesting results. I also asked all my techie friends and parents to see which mobile app search engines or review sites they liked.
I've test-driven all the suggestions and here are my top picks.

Freebies
Everyone knows there's no such thing as a free lunch. But free apps? Those are a lot easier to come by, especially for Android smartphone users.
For example, today only, Amazon's App Store has the classic defense/strategy game
Plants vs. Zombies free of charge. It normally sells for $2.99.
If you happen to miss out on that deal, or you're just not into plants (
or zombies), fear not: there are plenty of other great freebies you can grab all day, every day.

Stuff We Like
Are you the proud owner of a shiny new smartphone? If it's an
iPhone or one of the many, many models that use Google's
Android operating system (
the Droid X, Droid Incredible, HTC EVO 4G, etc.), it's time to stock up on apps.
Apps, of course, are little programs that let you do all kinds of fun and productive things with your phone. You can download them directly to your phone using an app that's already on it: Android Market or App Store (
for Android phones and iPhones, respectively).
There are literally thousands to choose from; I've rounded up five I consider essential. They're available for both platforms, and they're all free!

Product Review
This week, we ride the mobile gaming train right into freebie land. The only thing better to a gamer than playing video games is actually getting to play said games for free. With mobile gaming becoming more of a regular activity for us here at the Yasar and Guy Show, the arrival of Kongregate onto the mobile scene is very timely indeed.
