Does Cyber Monday have better deals than Black Friday?
As you can imagine, there's no simple answer to this question. However, Cyber Monday has become an interesting alternative to Black Friday due to its strategic date.
Since retailers tend to stock up for Black Friday, they often have leftover inventory they need to sell. These unsold items will likely get an extra discount the following Monday! Top Shopping Trends for Cyber Monday 2025
To understand Cyber Monday 2025 trends, let's first look at past sales for the entire sales weekend. A National Retail Federation study showed that 86% of the 2024 Cyber Weekend spending went toward gifts. According to an Adobe study, electronics, apparel, and furniture spending drove over half of Cyber Monday spending in 2024 (respectively $30.1 billion, $24.6 billion, and $16.2 billion).
“Looking at Savings.com’s top-selling categories for Cyber Monday 2024, we can see these trends confirming," explains Jordan Nishkian, Savings.com Holiday and Seasonal expert. “Our Home Improvement, Home & Garden, and Apparel & Accessories were our top-selling categories last year. And this doesn’t consider the part of any category’s sales that could be attributed to gifting."
Looking toward 2025 sales, Adobe expects this year’s event to hit $14.2 billion, making it the season's biggest shopping day.. Another report from Talker Research states that 56% of surveyed customers plan on shopping during Cyber Monday, with Millennials being most likely to participate (61%).
Regarding categories, Adobe forecasts that electronics, apparel, and home/furniture will drive over half of Cyber Week spending, consistent with last year's numbers. Cyber Monday, specifically, will likely see the highest discounts on electronics and toys. Adobe data predicts that Monday's sales will reach 28% off electronics (vs. 30% in 2024) and 25% off clothing (vs.23% in 2024).

Looking at Google Ads' search data, Amazon (49,500), Best Buy (40,500), Walmart (33,100), PetSmart (9,900), and Apple (8,100) were the five most-searched brands in association with Cyber Monday last November.
