Favado FAQ

Question: What is Favado?

Answer: Favado is a mobile savings app that helps shoppers stop overspending by notifying them when their favorite items are on sale. Favado has money saving experts who hand select sales and coupons every week — in more than 65,000 grocery and drugstores nationwide — to enable discovery of the best deals for savings up to 70% on everyday items.

Q: How does Favado actually save me money?

A: By combining coupons and offers with both published sale prices and secret sales; the best deals are hand selected by savings experts from across the country.

Q: How do I redeem the savings?

A: Add the items you need from the store’s deals list to your shopping list. Any printable coupons that are combined with the sales can be printed out on your home computer, after you email yourself your shopping list. Any coupons from the newspaper or a magazine can be clipped and taken to the store to redeem.

Q: How can I get coupons to print from my phone?

A: Unfortunately, coupons shown within the app cannot be printed from your phone. Coupon providers use Java print software to ensure that you can only print once per computer, and they haven’t figured out how to implement that security on mobile phones.

Q: Can I redeem electronic or digital coupons from other companies within the Favado app?

A: At this time, Favado does not offer integration with other digital coupon apps like Saving Star, iBotta or Cellfire. To save those offers to your card or redeem them, you must open their app and select those offers.

Q: Where do I find coupons with abbreviations like GM, SS, RP and PG?

A: Coupons listed within the app with an above abbreviation can be found in the corresponding insert that comes in the Sunday newspaper.

Q: How do I save beyond the sale price?

A: You can save even more by taking advantage of coupons, store credit and store promotions all accessible within Favado. The goal is to get items for as little as possible, so matching the sale price with the available coupon gives you “double the discount.”

Q: Can I redeem my coupons by showing my mobile phone to the cashier?

A: Not just yet but we’re actively working with your favorite brands to bring you exclusive digital coupons which you can redeem using your phone. Tell us which product coupons you’d want to see within the app, so we can reach out to your favorite brands.

Q: Do I need a smartphone?

A: Yes. Favado is available for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android devices. Unfortunately, Favado doesn’t have plans to develop an app for Windows phones.

Q: Can I create my shopping list using Favado?

A: Yes. The “My List” feature allows you to build your weekly shopping list within the app. Your “My List” can be used at home to print coupons or at the store while on the go. It can also be shared via email with whomever is doing the grocery shopping for you!

Q: What else can I do with Favado?

A: You can share your shopping list to others via email. Compare deals and savings across local stores to see which has the best prices on items you need that week.

Q: How much can I expect to save by using Favado?

A: That depends on how much you want to save. The average shopper can save 30% by purchasing products that are listed on sale within the app, along with the other items needed. Savvy shoppers also save an average of 50% by following the sales cycles, only buying items when they are on sale and using the occasional coupon. Super Saver Shoppers can save up to 70% by using coupons every week combined with sale prices, as well as additional store promotions and offers.

  1. I have a windows phone…anyway to get app on my phone? Thanks!

    1. Hey Deborah,

For now, Favado is only available on Android & iPhone. If you have an Android tablet, you can download it to that.

      1. I have an Android phone, but when I went to the play store it says that this app is not compatible with my phone.

        1. Hey Dawn,

Chances are you are running an operating system that needs to be updated. Favado works on devices that are running 2.3 or higher. You should be able to check in the settings and get the operating system updated so the app can be downloaded. Thanks!

  2. I have a nextbook 8 and i can’t download this…..why?

    1. Hey Joana,

The app should work on all Android tablets, including the nextbook 8. Please email favadoapp@gmail.com so we can trouble shoot.

  3. Does this app actually allow me to earmark certain items as my “favs” in certain stores ahead of time, so that then when those particular items go on sale, the app notifies me directly, rather than me having to search through the whole list of items on sale that I might not need?

    1. I think I found the answer to my own question – it’s “yes”, right? Including a very specific brand product such as Charmin Toilet Paper, not just toilet paper in general, right? What about generic brands, like Kroger Granola cereal or something?

      1. Great that you figured it out! You can mark by both product type, or by specific brand…so you could choose “cereal” to keep it generic or a specific product like Tide if you are brand loyal. Hope you love this personalization feature!

    2. Yes Melissa…you can “personalize” to see just the deals and coupons on products you like…by brand or by product type. Then those deals are marked with the little red heart. Hope that helps!
