Chelsea Raineri is an editor and a podcast host and producer for Orange Coast magazine where she focuses on fashion, interior design, and successful and notable people with a connection to the area. She became interested in saving money when she started saving up her allowance as a kid to purchase her first dog—a dachshund named Harley. Since then, she’s been a fan of getting deals by thrifting, shopping during sales, and frequenting flea markets.

Chelsea’s Favorite Savings Hack

My most frequently used savings hack is signing up to receive a brand’s newsletter to get a discount. I learned about this hack from a friend and have been using it ever since. On average, I tend to save about 10%, but I’ve saved as much as 20% off my purchase. Sometimes, the savings justify adding a few more items to my cart, which is fun, too.
