Amex Perks Alert: Free Walmart+ for Platinum Members, 50% Off for Blue Cash Everyday

Your American Express card might be your holiday budget’s secret weapon.

That’s because Amex cardholders can score major discounts on a Walmart+ membership, whether you’re the proud owner of the Platinum Card with its $895 annual fee (okay, big spender) or you roll with the Blue Cash Everyday Card, which has no annual fee (okay, thrifty).

Here’s how both offers work, and how to make sure you don’t miss out.

Why Walmart+ Is Worth Joining

For Platinum Card holders, the deal couldn’t be simpler: it’s essentially free Walmart+.

When you pay $12.95 for a monthly (not annual) Walmart+ subscription, Amex issues a statement credit for the same amount. Just make sure to sign up with your Platinum Card so you receive that refund each month.

“Card Members with an existing monthly Walmart+ membership need to log into their account and update payment method to a Card on the Platinum Card Account," explains American Express, adding, “Card Members with an annual Walmart+ membership must change their plan to the monthly membership option … to receive this benefit."

Walmart+: 50% Off with Blue Cash Everyday

The Blue Cash Everyday card works a little differently. Through January 2026, Amex is offering 50% off a Walmart+ annual membership, not monthly. Since the regular price is $98, you’ll pay $49 for the year. (That’s less than what most of us spend on gift wrap and peppermint mochas.)

Here’s how to find and activate the promotion if you’re a Blue Cash Everyday holder:

1. Log in to your American Express account.
2. Scroll down to Amex Offers & Benefits.
3. Type “Walmart" into the search field – you’ll see the deal pop up.
4. Click Add to Card.
5. Use your Blue Cash Everyday Card when you pay for Walmart+ to get your discount.

Voila, easy! Again, just double-check you’re using the Blue Cash Everyday Card when you purchase the Walmart+ annual membership so the discount applies.
