If you have an FSA/HSA card, you don’t have to save it for doctor’s appointments and prescription medications. Whether you need overnight diapers for your toddler, a Waterpik to take your floss game up a few notches, or even a massage gun to pamper yourself with, Walmart’s FSA and HSA Shop has you covered.
From sunscreen to vitamins, first aid, health monitors, and mobility devices, you’ll find a solid (and often surprising) selection of items to meet the needs of just about everyone in your family. Let’s go over the basics of FSA and HSA accounts and how you can use them at Walmart.
What’s an FSA?
Also known as a flexible savings account, an FSA is an optional tax-deferred savings account available through many employers to help you pay for qualified medical expenses. In 2025, you may contribute a maximum of $3,300 via payroll deductions.
Since most FSA funds don’t roll over at the end of each year, you’ll lose your balance (aside from a maximum carryover of $660) if you fail to use it by December 31. Yes, you read that right, the money will disappear into thin air, so it’s up to you to spend it on something, even if that something is Neutrogena Acne Body Scrub for zits that pop up in unexpected places.
What’s an HSA?
A health savings account or HSA is another tax-deferred savings account for eligible medical expenses. It usually comes with a high-deductible health plan (HDHP) through your employer or the marketplace.
Unlike FSAs, HSA funds can roll over at the end of the year — so if you don’t use your HSA funds by December 31, no worries — and you can invest them. They also have higher contribution limits: $4,300 for individuals and $8,550 for families in 2025.
How to Spend Your FSA and HSA Funds at Walmart and Walmart.com
Your FSA or HSA account should come with a debit card, which makes using the funds easy and straightforward:
- If you’re shopping in-person at a Walmart store, the Walmart app’s Scan & Go feature can tell you whether a specific item is FSA/HSA eligible based on its barcode — or you can just ask a Walmart Pharmacy employee to check.
- Shopping online? Go to Account > Settings > Wallet > Add New Payment Method. Then, click on credit/debit card and enter the deets of your FSA/HSA card. Walmart’s online FSA and HSA Shop lets you directly sort by category and find eligible items.
FSA/HSA Eligible Items at Walmart
Your FSA or HSA account covers Tylenol, DayQuil, Band-Aids, and allergy meds, naturally, but you’ll also come across all kinds of personal-care products: feminine care, hand sanitizer, denture cleaner, heating pads, orthopedic shoe inserts, and more. New parents will find tons of eligible baby products, including monitors and bottles.
If a product isn’t eligible and you use your FSA/HSA card anyway, you’ll need to pay the plan sponsor back (without the tax break). So, double check that your item has the “FSA and HSA eligible" badge on the right side of the Walmart product page:

You’re probably buying a lot of eligible items already — or have had that massage gun on your Christmas list for years but nobody ever gifts it — so use your FSA/HSA card for your next Walmart trip and enjoy the tax savings.
