Saving money on gas, travel, entertainment, tire repair, pet care, grocery and pharmacy delivery, and even Burger King Whoppers sounds great — but a Walmart+ membership costs $12.95 monthly or $98 annually, which might not fit the budget for households with low incomes.
That’s where Walmart+ Assist comes in. Walmart offers a generous 50% price break for U.S. residents enrolled in certain government assistance programs. With Walmart+ Assist, you’ll pay just $6.47/month instead of $12.95, or $49/year instead of $98, making everyday savings more accessible.

How to Get Your Walmart+ Assist Discount
If you’re enrolled in one of these programs, signing up for Walmart+ Assist is quick and easy:
On the Walmart+ Assist page, click “Start your free 30-day trial." If you’re already a Walmart+ member, click “Switch to save." (Current members who’ve paid in advance, such as for the annual plan, will receive a refund or Walmart gift card covering the difference.)

Sign in or create a Walmart.com account. Use the dropdown menu to select whether you’re enrolled in SNAP or another assistance program.

Verify your eligibility through SheerID. You’ll be redirected to SheerID, a third-party verification service. Grant permission to access and verify your information, then upload any required documents. Don’t worry, this won’t affect your credit score.

Finish your enrollment. After SheerID verifies your eligibility, you’ll return to Walmart+ Assist to choose your discounted membership option: monthly or annual
Your verification keeps you qualified for one full year at the reduced price. After 12 months, Walmart will recheck your eligibility “in an offline process without any customer input for most cases," according to the company.
You can also try Walmart+ free for 30 days to see if it fits your lifestyle. Adding up all the possible savings, Walmart+ Assist can help you keep more money for life’s essentials.
