Stress is harmful to our health … but staying on top of our health can be so, well, stressful. It feels like we need to schedule time to schedule appointments! Costs are yet another barrier to getting the preventative care we need.

Here’s some feel-good news, though: Walmart, through its Walmart Wellness Days, offers a wide variety of free and convenient services.

What Services Does Walmart Cover for Wellness Days?

One of the biggest perks of attending a Walmart Wellness Day is the large number of free services offered. At each Wellness Day, customers can take part in free screenings — such as for glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI, and, at some locations, vision.  

Additionally, Walmart customers can take advantage of low-cost immunizations at its nearly 4,600 pharmacies for things like measles, mumps, pneumonia, tetanus, HPV, rubella, chicken pox/shingles, COVID-19, whooping cough, and Hepatitis A and B. Pharmacists will also be available to discuss general health, nutrition, and medication concerns.

How Often Does Walmart Host Wellness Days? 

Walmart generally hosts two Wellness Days a year: A winter event happens around New Year’s when people might especially have healthful resolutions on their minds (in other words, we’re recovering from weeks of extreme cheese and cookie consumption).

The summer Wellness Day takes place around Back-to-School season. It’s a convenient option for parents who want to knock out vaccinations and school supplies in one fell swoop, though folks of all ages can take advantage of these events. 

Don’t Forget the Goodies 

The Walmart Wellness Day experience doesn’t end with free screenings. You’ll also be able to find goody-bag items. These vary from date to date and location to location, but past samples have included

• Liquid IV hydration packets, which help with everything from extreme heat to extreme hangovers
• Stress balls
• Disinfectant wipes
